Cover Crop Field Day in Estonia is taking place again: a field trial with 24 different species and mixtures
Wednesday, September 13, 2023
eAgronom welcomes everyone to the Cover Crop Field Day that starts at 10 a.m.on October 4th at the Aruküla public house in Harjumaa, Estonia, where we will share the results of this year's field trial and talk about the benefits of sustainable agriculture. Along with other experts, a scientist from England will speak about the importance of earthworms in the soil.
The day starts with a seminar where we give an overview of our cover crop trial field. In addition, experts on the topic talk about the developments and possibilities of regenerative agriculture. Dr. David Jones, a scientist specializing in earthworms from England, will also take the stage. His presentation provides a thorough introduction to the world of earthworms and explains their beneficial role in the soil. Dr. Jones will continue to share practical knowledge on the field later.
In the second half of the day, we will move to the cover crop trial field, where we have sown more than 20 test plots with both different single species and mixtures with various characteristics. When making the choices, we based our experience on last year's field trial, different growing seasons, frost resilience, prices and the effect on the soil - come and see which species or mixture could be the best for your field!
On this occasion, our good partners Agrotrade, Viru Seeme, Linas Agro and Scandagra have also displayed their own mixtures, their representatives are in the field presenting their products. In addition, Paul-Tech will present the possibilities of soil sensors and the information obtained from them.
We would like to thank Mäe Teravili OÜ and Tatoli AS for their contributed to the establishment of the field trial.
NB! Most of the event will be held in Estonian - only Dr. David Jones' presentation will be in English.
